World cup fans warned on car insurance
Posted :23-05-2006
For those travelling to Germany this summer by car, it is all important to take out car insurance, according to Co-operative Insurance. The only co operative insurance company in the UK, has issued a warning for those intending on taking their cars with them to the World Cup this summer, to remember to take out or renew their car insurance. The company states that though European road fatalities are generally falling, the most lethal A roads in Europe are still in Austria, Belgium, France and Germany, the very areas where tens of thousands of world cup fans will be converging. Co-operative Insurance also states that Fans should make sure their insurance also covers break-down repair, as the company states that it could cost as much as £1,200 to get one's broken down car back to the UK. Travel insurance is included as well in the event of injury, as medical costs can be potentially astronomic. According to the Foreign Office over 100,000 Brits are expected to travel to the World Cup in Germany, which is estimated to be the biggest group of fans present after the hosts.
