More green car insurance policies predicted
Posted :26-01-2007
Increases in the number of people buying eco-friendly financial services will lead to more motorists taking out green car insurance, an expert claims.
Figures showing that the amount spent by consumers on financial products has increased to £11.5 billion would suggest there is a growing market for eco-friendly car insurance, asserts a spokesman for Co-operative Insurance (CIS).
In addition, David Neave says that the Ethical Consumerism Report compiled by the Co-operative Bank reveals that increasing numbers of Britons are becoming aware of the issues surrounding climate change.
"It is apparent that more and more consumers are becoming environmentally aware and that influences what they buy, including the purchase of car insurance," suggests Mr Neave.
CIS launched its green car insurance policy last year and a number of other providers have since followed suit, offering discounts on premiums for drivers who have an eco-friendly vehicle.
Many consumers can buy their car insurance or commercial vehicle insurance online.
