In addition, taking steps to ensure the security of the vehicle could help to reduce premiums, as some insurers offer discounts if a car is fitted with measures such as immobilisers and alarms.

According to the British Insurance Brokers' Association, the price of car insurance also depends on a number of factors including the driver's age and motoring experience in addition to where the vehicle will be kept at night.
