CFS: No reason to choose non-eco product

Customers have no reason not to choose an eco-friendly insurance product as they are the same price as their less green counterparts, it has been claimed.

Co-operative Financial Services (CFS), which says its eco car insurance is no more expensive than traditional equivalents, also remarked it had seen its greener policies become popular since their launch.

"More and more people will get switched on to what is expected of them to do their own bit, to fight climate change," said public relations manager for CFS, Duncan Bowker. "It's been very popular."

While some eco-friendly car insurance policies involve the planting of trees to offset carbon emissions, some companies donate money to environmental charities and others can give discounts to customers who drive hybrid vehicles.
