No car insurance is "irresponsible"
Posted :18-07-2007
Drivers who choose to get behind the wheel without car insurance are "irresponsible and selfish in the extreme", according to comments by an expert in the sector.
Head of communications for the Motor Insurers' Bureau Susan Beck remarked on the places in the UK where people may be more likely to avoid buying car insurance - but said wherever they are, they are risking their own lives and that of others.
Purchasing motor insurance, she continued, is all part of being a responsible citizen, in addition to keeping up-to-date with tax and MOT requirements.
"In 2006 the police seized 78,000 vehicles for no insurance," Ms Beck said. "Forty per cent of those vehicles were crushed or destroyed."
Motorists looking for competitive car insurance quotes may find luck by looking online, while being prepared and having all details of the car to hand might enable the process to be made quicker.
