Report: More motorists choosing car covers
Posted :31-12-2007
The choice to use a car cover and potentially reduce the risk of theft is one being taken by more and more motorists, according to a new report.
Car Parts Direct said that since vehicle vandalism and theft are some of the most commonly experienced crimes in the country, covering a car when it is parked can help to minimise its vulnerability.
The company said that it had seen many more drivers using car covers when they park their vehicle at train stations or at work.
"It helps prevent mindless damage and can avoid their vehicle being stolen," said Mark Cornwall of Carparts-direct.co.uk.
Although many car insurance companies may not take into consideration whether a car cover is used, they often ask if a car will be kept in a garage or a driveway.
Other standard motor insurance considerations can include the make and model of the vehicle in addition to the driver's experience on the road.
