Merc-driving women 'will turn men's heads'

A woman behind the wheel of a Mercedes SL Roadster is most likely to attract male attention than in any other car, a new survey has revealed.

In news which may be of interest to women's car insurance companies, the top ten cars "to turn men's heads" were discovered by evecars.com.

Behind the Mercedes were the Porsche 911 and the Mitsubishi Evo, followed by the Land Rover Defender and the Subaru Impreza.

And evecars.com editor Alex Jenner-Fust said the male respondents loved the idea of a female with a high-performance car - but only if she can drive it well.

"That's why the idea of a Land Rover Defender driven by the Queen is far more appealing than a modern Mercedes convertible being driven - or crashed - by the likes of Lindsay Lohan," she added.

Other cars in the top ten included the Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Fiat 500 and the Range Rover Sport.
