Website allows public to report bad drivers
Posted :08-01-2008
A website has been launched with the intention of improving the safety of roads in the UK, which allows members of the public to report drivers they deem dangerous.
BetterDrivingPlease.com was featured on the BBC 1 show Road Rage: The Battle for Britain's Roads last night and, as such, has received a surge in the number of hits it has received.
The site states that it is made up of people "exposing the everyday antics of drivers we see driving dangerously, that speed cameras never see" and aims to be a resource for others.
Registration plates of dangerous drivers can be entered into the site, which it says will become a database against which the police can check their own records.
Those caught speeding can face a number of punishments, including penalty points on their licence, fines and increased car insurance premiums.
It was recently reported that a website called speedaholics.com has been launched for those road users who believe that laws on speeding should be more relaxed.
