Buying car insurance online 'can save cash'
Posted :11-01-2008
Consumers who have access to the internet and are also keen to reduce their car insurance premiums have been given advice by Norwich Union.
The car insurance provider states that they should obtain their cover using the internet rather than through more traditional means, such as filling in forms and other paperwork.
Erik Nelsen, a spokesperson for the firm, suggests that road users can save cash by opting to buy their motor insurance online.
He explains that the majority of insurers will give a discount, usually of at least ten per cent, to consumers who purchase their cover over the internet.
"The channel that you use to buy your insurance can give you a discount right there," Mr Nelsen adds.
In recent days, the firm advised road users that keeping their vehicles in their garage rather than on the roadside could also result in them having to pay a smaller amount for their car insurance.
