Green car insurance availability 'increases'
Posted :16-01-2008
As consumers become more aware of the impact that their lives have on the environment, insurance providers are increasingly offered green products, notes Fair Investment Company.
James Caldwell, director of the organisation, comments that such firms now offer eco-friendly car insurance policies which offset either part or all of the emissions from a customer's car by investing in environmentally-aware alternatives and planting trees.
"Providers of green products such as car insurance and domestic energy sometimes charge more in order to cover the cost, so it is up to the consumer to decide."
"But it is still possible to find competitive deals on green products without it costing the earth," he adds.
In related news, a study carried out by the Co-operative Bank suggests that Britons plan to spend a total of £13.7 billion on improvements to their homes to reduce their impact on the environment, such as installing double-glazed windows and adding loft insulation.
