Pass Plus 'could lower car insurance costs'
Posted :05-02-2008
Taking part in the Pass Plus scheme could help younger road users to lower the costs associated with car insurance, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
In recent days, spokesperson for the ABI Malcolm Tarling stated that the course could well help those who have recently completed their driving test to get a better deal on motor cover.
He added that some companies in the car insurance market are more competitive than others and offer benefits, such as lower premiums, to those road users who are less of a risk.
"Some companies now offer incentives for young drivers who have this [qualification]," he noted.
In related news, road safety charity Brake recently stated that younger motorists have a higher chance of being involved in a car accident than their older counterparts, noting that 291 drivers between the ages of 20 and 29 were killed in the UK over the course of 2004.
