Scottish road safety campaign launched
Posted :11-02-2008
A campaign to lower the number of people involved in car accidents in Scotland was launched in recent days.
Hero to Zero will run across all 12 councils in the region and will include bathroom posters in pubs, beer mats and a radio campaign.
The scheme aims to show young people the dangers of acting in an irresponsible fashion when behind the wheel, which could not only reduce the number of accidents but also lower the car insurance premiums of such motorists.
Chairman of the West of Scotland Road Safety Forum councillor Duncan MacIntyre comments: "We need young drivers who take risks on the road to question their own driving and that of their friends and consider the consequences of their own and other's behaviour."
In related news, research by car insurance provider elephant.co.uk recently suggested a link between a motorist's driving ability and their Chinese zodiac symbol, with those born in the year of the sheep being identified as the most likely to be involved in an accident.
