Caravan insurance lapse warning ? Motorhome insurance
Posted :03-10-2008
A couple who accidentally allowed their caravan insurance to lapse have been left devastated after thieves towed their new mobile home away, it has been reported.
In news that will be a warning to motorhome insurance holders, Arthur and Shelia Chapman had just returned from a holiday, the Peterborough Evening Telegraph reports.
The couple took their new £15,000 caravan on a three-week tour of Scotland but just hours after they returned home it was stolen from their drive.
Mr Chapman told the newspaper each of the couple assumed the other had purchased insurance when they exchanged their old mobile home for the new one.
"We arrived home in the afternoon and the next thing we knew, our neighbour told us that our caravan had just disappeared off our drive," he told the source.
The couple were celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on the trip and had not yet unpacked before the thieves struck, it is reported.
In recent caravanning news, Heron's Mead Touring Park in Orby has been given an award for its contribution to environmental work.
