Caravanners a 'very social group' ? Motorhome insurance

People who are new to caravanning will find fellow holidaymakers are a friendly group of people, according to the Caravan Club.

Getting away at Christmas and New Year is a good time to meet like-minded individuals and there is a good ambience on caravan sites, the club says, which may interest holders of motorhome insurance.

It also commented that when summer is over there are still some beautiful destinations to visit in the UK over the winter months.

A spokesperson for the club said caravanners are a "very social group" so it is a great atmosphere when people are on a site over Christmas.

"Often there are parties and people get together for drinks. It is a wonderful way to spend Christmas and the New Year," the representative said.

The National Caravan Council recently revealed in 2007 the highest ever number of motorhomes were owned by people in the UK, standing at 11,646.

It also showed sales of caravan holiday homes rose by 12 per cent to 23,150.
