Caravan site faces legal action ? Motorcaravan insurance
Posted :07-10-2008
A camping and caravan site built to accommodate touring caravans and tents is carrying out work to build permanent homes, it has been reported.
The site, which is situated near Beauly, is facing legal action after the owners failed to comply with notices to stop the work, the Inverness Courier reports.
In news that may interest holders of motorcaravan insurance, local people have become concerned about tree felling that has taken place at the park.
David Polson, the council's planning manager, told the source it became apparent work was underway in July and an order was placed to prevent more loss of trees.
"It also became clear engineering work was under way to provide some additional, more or less permanent, homes on the site," he added.
The park was taken over by new owners earlier this year and when officials checked they found the licence still showed the previous occupier's name, the source said.
In recent caravanning news, Heron's Mead Touring Park in Orby has been given an award for its contribution to environmental work.
