Caravan site plans divide village ? Motorcaravan insurance
Posted :09-10-2008
A farmer is urging people to join his protest against plans for a new caravan park in the east of England.
In news which may interest people with motorcaravan insurance, plans have been lodged by THPD Properties for 25 lodges, complete with a touring caravan and tent park in Yaxham.
The Eastern Daily Press reports that local farmer Nick Anema has formed a petition which he is now urging people to support, claiming to have got 98 signatures to date.
He told the newspaper the plans will affect his herd of 150 Aberdeen Angus cattle, which graze close to the site proposed for development.
Mr Anema said: "It will affect 100 acres of our land.
"If the development goes ahead we may have to stop the cattle grazing this area as it would simply not be worth risking the health and wellbeing of these animals."
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council recently rejected plans for 46 new static caravans at the Waterside Holiday Park.
The Dorset Echo reports that the park's owners have now launched an official appeal against the decision.
