Caravanning 'no longer old-fashioned' ? Motorhome insurance
Posted :13-10-2008
Going on a caravan or camping holiday is no longer seen as a break for old people, with more young families taking the option, according to a television channel.
A small investment in a caravan or tent means families can have cheaper holidays in the UK than going abroad, according to the Caravan Channel.
In news that may interest holders of motorhome insurance, the programme says there is plenty of open space, good play facilities and security for children at parks.
A spokesperson for the television channel says families can invest around £2,000 for a second-hand caravan or £400 for a brand-new six person tent.
"This gives families the opportunity to find a fortnight's UK-based holiday in peak season for around £400 in a caravan and less than £350 in a tent," the source says.
Broadcasting 26 shows every year, the Caravan Channel has been in production for two years and its winter shows will focus on holidays from the family viewpoint.
Haven Holidays recently announced its plans to introduce campervans which cater for those wanting a "more luxury" holiday, according to the Birmingham Mail.
