A holiday park in Wales has been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for the tenth consecutive year, it has been reported.

Haven's Lydstep Beach in Tenby has planted more than 300 trees and shrubs at its recently redeveloped Bay View area, according to the Tenby Observer.

In news which may interest those looking for motorhome insurance quotes, the park has funded a National Park ranger who organises regular nature walks for holidaymakers.

Russell Knight, green team leader at the site, told the source the park was thrilled to get its tenth award from David Bellamy who has visited on a number of occasions.

"It is great to have been involved in the scheme for so long and our aim is to maintain the beauty of the park for people to enjoy in the most sustainable way possible," he said.

The holiday park is environmentally friendly as its caravans have energy-saving lighting and there is an extensive recycling programme.

David Bellamy Conservation Awards are given to holiday parks which can show they have an active concern for the environment.
