Rental vans 'in good condition'

New research has found that rental vans are generally in god condition, as hire companies appear to be making a concerted effort to raise standards.

According tom research carried out by Farmers Weekly and sister magazine Commercial Motor, levels of service and the overall standard of vehicles was generally good.

However, the report did find some differences in the condition of vehicles, highlighting the importance of commercial vehicle insurance for firms to ensure that they are covered in all circumstances.

One of the problems with hiring a van is that many people have little idea over the levels of service or average cost of a vehicle, so can easily be duped into paying over the odds for sub-standard vehicles.

However, this survey suggests that the majority of van hire firms do not involve themselves in such practices, offering a professional service and good quality vehicles.

Shopping around for the best deal was advised by the authors of the report, because while the prices tended to be within a similar range, some hire firms offered better deals than others.
