Majority of "white van men" claim they are good drivers

It is now ten years since the term "White Van Man" was coined, meant to denote a driver of a van or other commercial vehicle who is selfish and rude when behind the wheel.
However, a survey by Cornhill Direct found the majority of such motorists believe they are "impeccable drivers" who have been unfairly stereotyped.
The findings may interest those looking for commercial vehicle insurance, as 93 per cent of white van men claim to have never parked on double yellow lines and 90 per cent say they do not use their phone while driving.
A spokesperson for the company, Mark Bishop, said: "They come in for a lot of criticism so it's about time White Van Man had a chance to have his say."
He added: 'It's easy to stereotype certain groups of motorists but the truth is these guys are driving for the majority of the day and on the whole are experienced, knowledgeable drivers."
Other types of commercial vehicles can include coaches, buses, trucks or taxis.
