Van insurance policies 'vary'

Those looking for a van insurance policy might be interested to hear that cover of this type varies depending on the make and model of the vehicle in addition to the provider, according to an expert in the sector.
James Carnduff, press officer for van insurance firm Gladiator, said it is hard to draw a distinction between types of van cover because some companies only insure the shell of the vehicle, forcing the driver to go elsewhere for contents insurance.
He also said that some people can often find it "daunting" when starting up their own business and looking for relevant insurance.
"It depends on the vehicle you're driving and the extras that people have in terms of tool cover and public and employers liability insurance," Mr Carnduff concluded.
A range of factors are usually considered when calculating insurance quotes, such as number of years since the driver passed their test and any existing penalty points.
