Motorists 'advised to hide evidence of in-car gadgets'

Van drivers in Lancashire were warned by police to avoid the need for a claim on their commercial vehicle insurance by removing signs of expensive gadgets from their automobiles.
Opportunistic burglars broke into three vans outside a hotel in Colne after spying paraphernalia associated with satnav systems, Pendle Today reports.
While one driver had left his £300 navigation system in the van and had it stolen, the other two drivers had taken the equipment into their hotel rooms but left the cradles attached to their windscreens.
Sergeant John Fryer from Colne police told the publication that the road-users had done well to take their in-car equipment into the hotel with them to ensure that they were not left unattended overnight.
"But opportunists will try their luck if they see a cradle, or even the sucker marks left on the glass," he added.
The newly updated Highway Code contains new information on topics that have arisen in motoring in recent years, such as matters pertaining to satnav systems.
