Students cautioned on insurance

As freshers weeks kick off across the country, Barclays has warned students to insure themselves against theft.
People in the age group of 16-24 are three times more likely to be the victims of burglary than any other age group, according to Barclays and students in particular are often targeted.
Barclays has stated that it is worthwhile for students to insure their more valuable belongings.
Mark Till, marketing director for Barclays Insurance, said: "Insurance is one of the absolute essentials for all students yet so many neglect to take it out. We all know that there are so many other things that will be keeping students busy in their first days at university; inductions, lectures, seminars and not forgetting freshers' week.
"As a result many simply do not even think about contents insurance."
Contents insurance for students could cost as little as £2 a month, so is well worth it, Mr Till added.
The National Union of Students is promoting an online course in flirting directed at undergraduates starting university this term, set to coincide with club nights across the country, the Sun reports.
