Parents should consider reviewing their home contents insurance after it was revealed that children's bedrooms contain around £14 billion worth of goods.
Research from Co-Operative Insurance has exposed that the average child hordes a collection of gadgets to the sum of £1,260 in their room.
Furthermore, one in ten parents confirmed that their offspring's bedroom contained over £2,500 of gizmos.
"Many parents simply do not realise just how valuable the contents of their children's rooms are," commented David Neave, director of general insurance at the company.
"It is important for people to regularly review the value of their home contents and if necessary increase the level of [home contents insurance] to ensure that it is adequate."
Mr Neave also encouraged parents to ensure that their children were covered for personal possessions insurance upon taking their goods with them outdoors.
The survey revealed that children in the north-east of England have the most expensive bedrooms at £1,540.
