Newlyweds 'should re-evaluate home contents insurance'

Honeymooners returning home following their wedding would do well to review their home contents insurance, it has been revealed.
According to the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba), the expensive wedding gifts received can leave items unprotected on couple's home contents insurance if the level of cover is insufficient.
Jewellery, heirlooms and expensive gifts are all listed by the organisation as factors which contribute to this problem.
"I think that having the right sum insured is something people do when they first buy their house and take out their insurance, but they don't necessarily think very often about reviewing it," noted Graeme Trudgill, manager of technical services at Biba.
Mr Trudgill added that it was important for newly married couples to contact their insurance broker following their wedding to review their policy.
Biba is the UK's leading general insurance organisation and claims to represent the interests of insurance brokers, intermediaries and customers.
