Brits 'save money by haggling'

Britons can save a total of £3.5 billion each year by haggling with locals abroad, a new survey has discovered.
AA Insurance found that some 23 per cent can be saved on individual items if each party is prepared to barter, meaning holidaymakers could come home with a treasure trove of knick-knacks for a fraction of the original cost.
However, amid the excitement of new purchases, Britons may want to consider adding the value of each item onto their home insurance policy - with this providing some financial security should a claim need to be made.
Other interesting findings from the research included Europe named as the top "haggling hotspot", followed by Africa and south-east Asia.
"It's great we're saving so much each year by haggling on our holidays - it shows Brits have got what it takes to bag a bargain and get the best deal possible," said AA Travel Insurance director Christian Young.
People can also attempt to haggle over the price of a car in the UK, particularly with second-hand models.
