Home insurance recommended to festivalgoers

Those hoping to enjoy the remaining festivals of the summer season are being advised to take out additional home insurance and protect their possessions while enjoying the music.
Halifax Home Insurance has recommended that festivalgoers stay "one step ahead" of opportunistic thieves and make sure their items are covered while outside the home.
Research from the company found some one in four Brits has had possessions stolen in a public place in the last five years, with criminals targeting mobile phones, jewellery and wallets among other things.
"Summer music festivals are great fun and we don't want to put people off attending these events, just advise them to be vigilant," said senior manager of pricing and underwriting for Halifax Home Insurance Paul Birkhead.
Events set to take place in the next month include the Leeds and Reading festivals, Creamfields, Connect and Retrofest.
Ticket holders are sure to be hoping for good weather, following this year's Glastonbury weekend which was hit by heavy rain.
