Ensure home insurance covers garden contents, says Saga

Contents of gardens are often not taken into consideration by home insurance consumers, according to provider Saga.
Director John Potter stated that many consumers do not consider the full value of their garden and it is increasingly easy to "underestimate" the cost of repairing or replacing garden contents.
Mr Potter added that garden furniture is increasingly expensive - with budget sets often costing hundreds of pounds - and as such it is increasingly important that consumers ensure that their home insurance policy provides protection for possessions that are used outside.
Lawns were also identified as an area where replacement may prove costly should vandalism take place.
According to research by the Target Group Index from April 2006 to March 2007, more than one million UK consumers spend over £150 on plants on a yearly basis.
The Saga Group provides a number of services including insurance, financial products and holidays to consumers aged 50 and over.
