Home insurance customers 'unhappy with their new homes'

Some 29 per cent of British homebuyers - including home insurance customers - are dissatisfied with their new homes after they move in, according to research by AA Insurance.
Head of AA Home Insurance Janet Pell states that for the majority of people, purchasing a home is the most important transaction they make in their lives, meaning that it is imperative for consumers to get it right and ensure they have no regrets once they move in.
"Once you've found your dream home, make sure you shop around for the best deal on your mortgage, surveys and home insurance," she adds.
The study indicates that displeasure may stem from a lack of knowledge about the house-buying process as 29 per cent found it difficult, 11 per cent were concerned about hidden faults in properties and seven per cent fretted about estate agents ripping them off.
According to the Land Registry of England and Wales, the average UK house price is currently £210,578.
