Caravan fans 'should check home insurance policy limits'

Caravan owners should check their home insurance policy to ensure their possessions are covered when they are away from home, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).
Speaking about expensive personal items that people take with them on holiday, the spokesperson said that any policy will have limits and it is important for the holder to establish what these are.
She also said that this applies when items are covered either by home insurance or specialist caravan insurance.
If a consumer discovers that any item they plan to take on holiday with them is not covered by their policy, then they should "get it listed".
The spokesperson's comments come after recent research from the Caravan Club which shows that 19 per cent of people participating in a caravan holiday.
It also revealed that the club's membership increased by 57,000 during 2007 to now stand at over one million people.
Research by the British Holiday and Home Parks Association has also revealed that caravanning generates an annual tourism spend of £3.1 billion.
