Motorhome owners told to beef up security

To prevent caravan owners from having to make claims on their motorhome insurance, police in Lincolnshire are urging people to consider security measures they can take.
The east coast of England is home to 200,000 static and touring caravans, according to Lincolnshire police, who claim that they can be "vulnerable".
A new campaign is being launched by the force to remind people about the risks involved in leaving property in caravans and motorhomes during closed seasons and not taking adequate security steps during high season.
PCSO Chris Wood said that leaving property in caravans during the closed season is "foolish".
"We also want people to be aware that leaving their caravan doors and windows ajar during the summer is leaving their property wide open to being stolen," he advised.
Thieves tend to target caravans containing electrical equipment and kitchenware, motorhome insurance customers may be interested to know.
A number of caravans were broken into at the Coral Beach caravan site in Ingoldmells last weekend, the Skegness Standard reports.
Thieves made off with £7,000 worth of camera equipment from one caravan, the newspaper noted.
