Home insurance still needed in Hertfordshire - Household insurance

Although recorded crime in Hertfordshire has fallen, the area has seen an increase in the number of homes broken into, which may interest people in the region with household insurance cover.
Latest crime statistics for the area reveal burglaries are down two per cent overall, although there has been a 5.6 per cent increase in the number of houses broken into, according to the Welwyn & Hatfield Times.
However, police drew attention to the fact that they have arrested and convicted twice the number of burglars than they did last year.
Other offences in Hertfordshire, such as violent crime and robbery, have decreased by a fifth over the past year, the figures also show.
Chief constable Frank Whiteley told the newspaper: These figures mean that there are fewer victims of crime in the county and that criminals are more likely than ever before to be caught and punished for the crimes they commit.
In other news, household insurance holders in South Yorkshire may be pleased hear police figures show an 11.5 per cent decrease in burglaries, meaning 242 less homes were raided over the last year.
