Police offer vehicle advice - Motorhome insurance

A new scheme to cut the number of caravan-related incidents and motorhome insurance claims has been launched in the Midlands, it has emerged.
Operation Velopy, developed by Central Motorway Police Group and the Highways Agency, intends to provide education for drivers who are towing caravans, reports the Evesham Journal.
A team of police officers assigned to the operation will man the southbound Strensham Services area on the M5 from this Friday (July 25th) to provide concerned caravan and motorhome owner with advice.
Sergeant Dean Caswell told the newspaper: "The advice will be given to drivers on a voluntary basis, but I would urge anybody in the area to take advantage of this initiative."
He said he hopes the operation will reduce the number of accidents the vehicles are involved in, which could cause a decrease in motorhome insurance claims.
Earlier this month, police in Lincolnshire urged caravan and motorhome owners to increase security on their vehicles to avoid thefts during the high season.
