Dwarf burglar caught in house raid - Home insurance

A gang of burglars used a dwarf to squeeze through small gaps to help them steal scrap metal, which may interest those holding household insurance cover.
However, the gang was rumbled when 3-foot 11-inch-tall Lee Kildare got drunk before a raid and was caught by police.
Security guards heard voices and other noises from an empty house in Newcastle and called the police.
Fiona Varley, prosecuting solicitor at Newcastle magistrate's court, said: "He was very drunk and said if the police hadn't arrived he would have stolen the copper."
However, Michael Crowe, defending, told magistrates that the gang had "taken advantage" of the 22-year-old when using him to break into houses.
In other household insurance news, the Manchester Evening News has claimed prison and community punishment orders do not deter burglars.
The newspaper interviewed a 36-year-old burglar from the city who said jail is "too easy" and did not stop him from stealing to feed his cocaine and heroin addiction.
