Car damages home - Household insurance

A Torquay homeowner will be glad of household insurance cover after an 82-year-old motorist crashed in to the front of the property.
The pensioner driver had been visiting a friend on Princes Road in Ellacombe before the accident happened at 23.15 last Saturday (June 19th), the Herald Express reports.
Neighbour Sarah Dytor said she heard a loud screeching and looked out of the window to see that a car had crashed in to the front of the house opposite. "I was really scared at first, I had been watching The Living and the Dead horror film and the sudden noise really made me jump," she told the newspaper. Firefighters said the man had been trying to get out of a parking space when he lost control and went straight across the road, damaging the house and his car.
He was taken to hospital and later released uninjured.
The collision caused minor damage to the wall, police said.
Last week, Tescocompare.com suggested that children cause up to 42 per cent of household insurance claims, with adults causing 33 per cent.
