Boxer's caravan stolen - Motorhome insurance

The caravan which was owned by legendary bare knuckle boxer Bartley Gorman has been stolen, it has been reported.

Criminals took the motorhome from Uttoxeter weeks after it was discovered drugs users were squatting in the vehicle, according to the Burton Mail.

Relatives of the boxer kept the van to remind them of the champion prize-fighter, who died of liver cancer in 2007.

Maria Gorman, daughter of the boxer, told the newspaper: "People have asked my family if they can buy it but we would have never sold it.

"We were keeping it as a memory to my father - it is priceless. We are very upset."

She also revealed several other thefts have been carried out against the family, telling how two five-foot lion statues and another caravan have been taken in previous incidents.

Last week, the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed a new caravan storage site in Worksop is to be opened, providing motorhome insurance holders with somewhere to house their vehicle.
