Motorhome owners should check tyres - Motorhome insurance

Motorhome insurance holders may be interested to hear of a campaign to increase the number of people checking their caravans' tyres.
Road safety organisation TyreSafe reminded caravan and motorhome owners to check tyres are correctly inflated, are in good condition and have a good tread depth.
In a statement, the organisation said: "Tyres are the only component of a caravan to come into contact with the road, so are vital to its stability and safety."
TyreSafe pointed out that pressure is an important factor, as under-inflated tyres wear away more quickly and can be less fuel efficient.
In addition, having the correct tread depth is vital for coping with the unpredictable British weather and can have a "significant effect" on braking distances.
The organisation also advised motorists to check for objects which have become imbedded in their tyres, as well as looking out for signs of ageing.
Last week, police in the Midlands announced they were running a free service to advise people on the best way to tow their caravans, according to the Evesham Journal.
