'Check for flood warnings' - Motorhome insurance

People wanting to avoid claims on their motorhome insurance should check for flood warnings, experts have warned.
The Caravan Club said flood warnings can be found on the internet and delivered by email, to allow motorhome drivers to check on the weather before they go on holiday.
A spokesperson for the organisation commented: "If an area is historically prone to serious flooding it is sensible to check the weather forecasts as close to your departure in order to make provisions if necessary."
In addition, the representative also claimed caravanning and motorhome holidays are increasing in popularity, with sites reporting a ten per cent rise in bookings.
Reasons for this could be the pinch of the credit crunch making the vacation more cost effective or people wanting to experience the freedom the pastime provides, the spokesperson suggested.
The National Caravan Council estimates that there are around 500,000 touring caravans in use in the UK, with almost two million people enjoying motorhome holidays every year.
