Household insurance cover holders in Oxford may be pleased to hear that a local serial burglar has been jailed.
According to the Oxford Mail, Victor Webster, 49, was labelled as a "menace" by judge Anthony King after he admitted to stealing a laptop, watch and mobile phone from a house in Jericho.
Ian Thomas, prosecuting, told the court that the homeowner had returned to her house after an evening out and found her belongings had been taken, with fingerprints leading the police to Webster.
Graham Russell, defending, said that the criminal had trouble adjusting to the outside world after his most recent release from prison.
The news provider reports that judge King sentenced Webster to three years and nine months and said: "I regret to say prison is unlikely to reform you. You are more than a public nuisance - you are a menace."
Last month, the Gloucester Citizen reported a burglar was caught after police followed footprints to his front door and matched them to his tiny feet.
