Household insurance cover holders in Plymouth may be interested to hear a local man has been jailed for burglary, it has been reported.
Benjamin Stacey, of Adelaide Street, Stonehouse, received a 37-month sentence for burgling a house in Mary Tavy and other offences in vehicle theft and fraud, according to the Plymouth Herald.
When arrested, Stacey was in possession of a flat screen television and a laptop, while a later search of the home he shares with his mother discovered another computer reported as stolen.
Judge Francis Gilbert, at Plymouth crown court, described the criminal as a "persistent offender", the newspaper reports.
Nick Lewin, defending, said: "He is at a loss to say where his life was going at that point. He comes from a disadvantaged back- ground.
"Hopefully he can use the time in custody to build on his life."
In other news, a burglar in Northampton broke into a town centre bar after scaling scaffolding.
The thief made his escape with a haul including electrical items and a red bucket, according to the Northampton Chronicle and Echo.
