Teddy bear busts thief - Household insurance cover

In news which may interest home insurance holders, a thief has been caught by a camera hidden inside a teddy bear.
Robert Sampson, 46, and daughter Emma, a 21-year-old forensic science graduate, fixed the camera into the toy to catch a care assistant who they thought was stealing from his terminally-ill mother, Thelma.
After his mother told him £40 was missing from her purse, Mr Sampson and his daughter wrote down the serial numbers of money in the purse and planted it in front of the camera-rigged bear.
The video later showed care assistant Yvonne Allen, 28, of Halewood, Liverpool, taking the money.
Mr Sampson explained; "We thought it would be a long process but she was greedy. We called the police and showed them the footage and gave them the serial numbers."
Allen pleaded guilty to two counts of theft at the Liverpool Criminal Justice Centre and received a six-month sentence.
Earlier this month, a cat almost stopped a burglary, after it alerted a Lancashire family about an intruder in their home, according to Lancashire Telegraph.
