A seven-year-old girl from the Midlands saved her family from a house fire after remembering what to do from a television programme, it has been reported.
In news which may interest household insurance cover holders in the area, the girl woke up in the early hours of the morning to discover the kitchen of the two-storey house in Willenhall was on fire, according to the BBC.
To avoid the smoke, the girl crawled along the floor and managed to wake her parents, with the whole family being rescued by firefighters after a neighbour rang the emergency services.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman praised the girl, telling the news provider: "She knew what to do to avoid the smoke because she had watched it on television.
"It is very impressive for a seven-year-old child."
The representative also revealed that the home has not been fitted with a smoke alarm, while the cause of the fire is thought to have been an electrical fault in a fuse box.
Yesterday (August 20th), North Wales Fire and Rescue Service warned people not cook after drinking alcohol, as a man in the area recently set fire to his caravan when doing so.
