'Use qualified professionals for underfloor heating' - Household insurance cover

Home insurance owners thinking of installing an underfloor heating system at their house should seek the help of professionals, it has been suggested.
Bruce Allen, chief executive at HETAS, the official body for solid-fuel domestic heating appliances, said fitting underfloor heating is not a simple task for those without specialist experience and knowledge.
He explained: "Understanding how much heat comes out of an underfloor system is not an easy job for a DIY enthusiast.
"There are calculations to be done and you've got to comply with regulations and codes."
In addition to risk of claims on household insurance cover, Mr Allen revealed such heating products have to conform to regulations surrounding safety of boiler installations and legal requirements such as proper notification of work.
To ensure underfloor heating systems are fitted correctly, the expert recommended using an able and competent company with experience in the field.
According to MTW Research's UK Underfloor Heating Industry report, the UK market for the heating solution is tipped to be worth more than £300 million this year.
