Those with motorhome caravans in north Wales may be interested to discover a Burton-upon-Trent man is to become one of the first people to use a kidney dialysis unit set up at holiday park in the area.
Last week, it was revealed that the Dinlle Caravan Park near Caernarfon has seen a dialysis unit established by Southern Derbyshire Health Authority due to the number of patients which choose to holiday in the region.
According to the Burton Mail, Midway resident David Clark, who has spent two years campaigning for the centre to be installed at the park will become one of the first people to benefit from its services.
He told the newspaper: "I have a touring caravan and normally we can only go away for two days before I have to return for dialysis.
"This will mean we can go away for much longer."
In addition, Paul Roome, chief technician at Southern Derbyshire Health Authority, said more patients will be brought to the area on week-long breaks, due to the dialysis unit.
Last month, the Plymouth Herald revealed that quitting smoking has helped a woman to improve her health, as well as allowing her to buy a motorhome with the money she saved.
