Ignore windscreen chips 'at a cost' ? motorcaravan insurance

Motorcaravan insurance holders are being warned to watch out for chips in their windscreens and not leave them unfixed.
Kwik-Fit is urging drivers not to use the credit crunch as a reason not to get a chip in their vehicle's windscreen mended, as it can end up costing more in the long run.
According to research from the firm, most motorcaravan insurance firms will cover any chips under the policy but if left they can spread and lead to replacement glass being needed.
David White, customer services director for the firm, said: "Even though money might be tight, theres really no reason to put off repairing a chipped windscreen. Putting off repairs is clearly a flawed way of economising."
The company found among 10.5 million drivers 15.4 million chips have occurred which have not been repaired.
In other motorcaravan insurance news, policy holders are being affected by floods across the UK, in particular the River Wansbeck bursting its banks in Northumberland.
