Workers at a Chorley caravan firm could be made redundant, it has been reported.
According to the Chorley Guardian, staff that former Barrons Group in Coppull, were told in an emergency meeting that their jobs could be on the line, which may be news to local motorcaravan insurance customers.
The development comes after the firm was by Discover Leisure for £20 million in July last year, with the group releasing a statement recently which revealed it debt has risen from £11.2 million to be around £22 million.
Exact numbers for job losses are not yet known, the newspaper reveals, although at the meeting the 120 staff at Coppull's were told that up to 60 of them could face redundancy.
One source at Discover Leisure suggested that 30 jobs could be lost from the group's 640-strong workforce.
Yesterday (September 17th), the Coventry Telegraph revealed that caravan manufacturer Avondale Coachcraft in north Warwickshire has gone into administration following a drop in sales.
