Motorhome show finds new venue - Motorhome insurance

An annual caravan rally usually based in York has found a new home, the area's motorhome insurance holders may be interested to hear.

The Northern Motorhome and Caravan Rally has moved to the Pickering Show despite being held in York since 1995, according to the York Press.

However, the show was already under attack from local residents who had complained about the increased traffic that the event brings, although businesses in the area did find it resulted in increased revenues.

Sandy Fraser, York councillor, told the newspaper: "There has always been a traffic issue with the event but there’s also an issue for businesses in Blossom Street and around - there’s clearly a loss of trade."

Gillian Cruddas, of Visit York, said it was sad the event has taken a home, but added that she hoped visitors to Pickering would still take time to visit nearby York.

Recently, Yorkshire Bank threw an event to promote the business support and funding it can offer caravan parks in the Lake District, the Lakeland Echo reported.
