Two successful caravan parks in Fylde have beaten the credit crunch to record an increase in visitors, it has been reported.
In news for campervan insurance holders, Marton Mere in Blackpool and Cala Gran in Fleetwood have seen bookings rise by more than ten per cent over the past year, according to the Blackpool Gazette.
The Marton Mere site has seen thousands of extra guests since March and is expecting to stay fully booked until the illuminations season ends, with the parent company of the sites, Bourne Leisure, seeing an overall profit of over £100 million as more families choose to holiday in the UK.
Andy Cressey, general manager at the park, told the newspaper: "It has been a fantastic year for everyone involved in the parks on the Fylde this year. It shows a number of families are seeing the effects of the credit crunch and choosing to stay closer to home, and importantly, here on the Fylde coast."
In recent campervan insurance news, the Dorset Echo applauded the Weymouth Bay Holiday Park in Preston and revealed how it has room for 800 caravans, in addition to two swimming pools and entertainment for visitors' children.
