Road users ignore weather warnings - Motorhome insurance

Half of road users would continue on their journey even if a severe weather warning had been issued, according to new research.
The figures from the Highways Agency found many motorhome insurance holders would embark on a trip even if torrential rain was forecast and a third of motorists would not make any extra checks to their car.
However, the vast majority 92 per cent would seek information on the weather conditions before leaving on a long journey.
Derek Turner, director of network operations for the Highways Agency, says the organisations wants its drivers to be ready for the winter.
He adds that the organisation will play an "essential role" during the winter months, concerning weather warnings.
"We recognise that travel can be essential and our survey shows that people do head out during severe weather, but being caught out by cold weather, strong winds or heavy rain isn't nice, especially if you've broken down," he adds.
Katie Shephard from road safety charity Brake said the weather does not have to be severe to cause problems for drivers.
