Women planning to update their wardrobe with this summer's latest fashions are urged to update their home insurance policies is inline with their purchases.
According to Halifax General Insurance women seeking the latest lines from top designers could spend £1,000 in achieving the look they are after this summer.
"This season's look is a hit with celebrities such as Sienna Miller so it's likely a lot of women will follow suit and treat themselves to a change of image," said Julia Davies, Halifax General Insurance's head of customer service.
"But a wardrobe re-vamp can cost hundreds of pounds, even if you go for the high street copycat collections."
Halifax estimates that someone seeking to create a 'copycat' look on the high street can expect to spend approximately £300.
Consumers are urged to update their insurance inline with their look, to protect their belongings against all eventualities including fire, flooding and theft.
"It's vital that - unless your policy offers unlimited cover - you regularly review the value of your wardrobe as some companies will reduce your claim if belongings are underinsured," she added.
Consumers are advised to update their home insurance policies to reflect any new belongings and to ensure that pricing estimates are as accurate as possible.
